Drone Video of Jr. Sailing at the CYC!
Please enjoy our drone video following our young sailors as they prepare and head out (in both optis and 420s) for lessons outside of Cohasset Harbor (Credit: Thomas MacMahon of Blue Sky Aerial).
Ahoy Fellow CYC Members,
Sailing, Fun Races, Fishing Tournament, Beach Parties, Series Racing, Dressy Dance, Cocktail Parties, and Leisurely Cruises is what summer at CYC is all about. The weather has cooperated with clear, blue, sunny skies. It has been a great summer at the Club so far with much more to come.
New this year, we have expanded our Club’s activities including: High Tide Wednesday Nights, Guppie and Adventure Programs and Family Movie and Game Nights resulting in the Clubhouse and docks teaming with activity. All of these memorable Club traditions, old and new, are designed to further the Club’s mission to encourage yachting through the promotion of good fellowship among those interested in sailing, seamanship and enjoyment of the ocean and its environment.
One person who deeply understood and lived this mission was Frances McElwain Wakeman. “Frannie,” mother of Sam Wakeman and Susie Davis, made CYC proud in the recent announcement of her nomination into the National Sailing Hall of Fame with her Lifetime Achievement Award. Frannie joins an elite group of individuals who have earned this distinguished honor. Congratulations to the entire Wakeman Family!
As always, my thanks to the staff and members who make these summer memories possible.
Fair Winds! Bet Baker
